Address for service: 1111 Franklin St, 8th Floor, Oakland, CA, 94607

The Regents of the University of California are tasked with the governance of the entirety of the University of California (UC) system. The UC system is one of the largest public university systems in the world. It has 10 campuses, including in Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Santa Cruz, Merced, Riverside, Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and San Francisco. The UC system is also responsible for numerous hospitals, national research laboratories, and more.

As the system is spread out across the state and involves so many different entities, service of process can be difficult and confusing. The Regents of the University of California accept service for a wide range of papers and entities, including subpoenas for records, summons and complaints, earnings withholding orders (EWO or “wage garnishment”), and more.
